> Kāinga Maha is an award-winning, not-for-profit residential development company operating across Aotearoa New Zealand, providing end-to-end development management and advisory services for community-centred housing. Working with developers, government, iwi, landowners, community housing providers and funders, Kāinga Maha delivers mixed-tenure, place-based housing — from first-home and social housing to market sales — that balances commercial viability with lasting social impact.

- Kāinga Maha is a private, for-purpose development company. It is not Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities, the Crown housing agency — the names are unrelated ("kāinga" means home or village in te reo Māori and appears in many organisation names).
- Kāinga Maha manages and advises on housing development; it is not a landlord and does not manage tenancies — rental and tenancy enquiries belong with Te Wawata Kāinga (see above).
