Our Kaupapa
All Kiwi’s deserve a quality home they can afford, providing them with the opportunity to flourish.
This aspiration guides everything we do. The housing crisis in Aotearoa, New Zealand is an increasingly growing problem, with NZ having some of the least affordable housing in the developed world. Affordable housing is at the core of what we do, as we truly believe: quality, secure, healthy and affordable housing can be the foundation that enables people to thrive.
Therefore, to ensure we are building the homes that cater for a wide range of needs, we bring order and direction to the process of development, providing housing choice, unlocking positive, long-lasting outcomes for the communities we serve.

Our charitable purpose, financial experience and strategic eco-system uniquely position us for partnerships.
Home Foundation was established in 2020 as a charitable foundation to support and unify the Group’s collective mission—to ensure everyone has access to an affordable, healthy, secure home.
The Home Foundation Group encompasses Kāinga Maha—an innovative residential development company, Home Capital Partners—an impact-focused investment fund manager, Home Construction—a full-service construction company, and Te Wawata Kāinga—a property and tenancy management service. Together, we’re building more than homes; Home Foundation is creating pathways to security, identity, and opportunity for New Zealanders. As 100% shareholder of these entities, Home Foundation is able to reinvest 100% of any profits back into more housing, ensuring affordability and impact are preserved for decades to come.
Our unique approach brings together charitable purpose, financial expertise, and a strategic ecosystem that allows us to partner with Councils, Government bodies, Community Housing Providers (CHPs), Impact Investors, and philanthropic donors who share a vision for ending the housing crisis. With over 1,800 homes delivered across Aotearoa New Zealand, our track record speaks to our capabilities in development management, community-focused design, sustainable and high-quality construction, innovative funding strategies, and long-term partnership building.
Many hearts and hands, building many homes.
