As Chair of Kāinga Maha's board, David provides the governance oversight that keeps the organisation accountable to its long-term direction.
Before housing, David spent over 12 years in senior leadership within the not-for-profit sector, moving from finance into general management as he grew organisational reach and capability, preceded by several years of service in the armed forces. Across more than two decades in strategic and governance leadership, his focus has consistently been organisational strategy, board governance, and building purpose-driven teams and culture.
Beyond Kāinga Maha, David coaches and consults on personal and professional development, drawing on certified training in strengths-based coaching and personality psychology to help individuals and leaders unlock their potential.
He is a member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand and holds an MBA, and is currently completing a postgraduate diploma in applied psychology.
