Maddie leads communications and brand across the Home Foundation Group, including Kāinga Maha.
She joined after more than five years with Assemble, a Certified B Corporation™ property developer in Melbourne building sustainable, affordable homes. As Community Engagement Manager she looked after 500+ residents from the moment they signed up for a home to the day they moved in, a stretch that usually ran two to three years. Much of that work meant turning complicated things like construction delays and planning decisions into communications people could actually use.
She also supported stakeholder engagement with councils and communities, redesigned the company's financial coaching programme, and project managed the development of new policies and guidelines from research through to senior leadership endorsement.
Maddie was Assemble's in-house designer and photographer too, working across the rollout of the company's brand refresh. Before that she was Content Producer for Assemble Papers, the company's publication on design, architecture and small footprint living, working with the editor on its public events programme.
She is a designer and photographer by training, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Monash University along with further qualifications in digital marketing and community engagement practice.
Maddie is based in Ōtautahi Christchurch and came to the Group because she believes in a housing system that cares for the people and places within it. Outside work you will find her in the garden with her daughter, swimming at the local bays, or walking her greyhound.
