Annie has spent more than 20 years shaping how affordable housing and estate regeneration get delivered, first across the UK, and now as Chief Executive of Kāinga Maha in New Zealand.
Her UK career spanned residential project delivery at The Riverside Group, specialist planning and development advice at Quod across major London regeneration projects including Battersea Power Station and King's Cross, a Regional Development Director role at bpha where she built a pipeline of over 1,200 homes, and leading affordable housing acquisitions at Sage Housing across London and the Home Counties, securing a forward pipeline of more than 1,300 homes.
Those roles gave her a thorough grounding in the full development cycle: land origination, financial appraisals, due diligence, planning strategy, partnership negotiation, and delivery oversight. They also reinforced a view she has held throughout her career: that the for-purpose sector is entirely capable of leading development to a commercial standard, not just following it.
Annie moved to New Zealand five years ago and built Kāinga Maha with that conviction. As CEO, she built the organisation from the ground up, including its strategy, pipeline, and partnerships with community housing providers, mission-aligned landowners, local authorities, iwi, and private sector partners.
Beyond Kāinga Maha, she serves on the national board of the Urban Design Institute of New Zealand, contributing to sector-wide advocacy on affordable housing supply and the policy settings needed to unlock better outcomes at scale.
She holds an MBA in Public Services from the University of Birmingham, a Diploma in Housing Studies, and an LLB in Law with German, and is a Member of the Institute of Directors.
Originally from Yorkshire with Hungarian heritage, Annie lives in North Canterbury with her Kiwi husband, two daughters, and a dog named Buddy.
